it contain? I found tons of info stating that catfish is high in cholesterol but none that states what kind of cholesterol. Fish usually has good cholesterol only but on one website the fact that catfsih has so much cholesterol was listed as a negative attribute of this food. So I'm a little confused.

Fish does have some cholesterol, however it is high in mono unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which cause it to not have the same elevating effect on raising your cholesterol, such as beef which contains a high amount of saturated fat which will make cholesterol rise. There are no such things as HDL and LDL foods, these are what the fats convert to in your body. The best fish to eat are the cold water fish, salmon being the most popular. This is because fish from cold waters contain more of the good fats that will keep your cholesterol being raised. They also contain Omega 3's which also has cholesterol lowering effect.

Dietary cholesterol is neither LDL or HDL, that is why eating cholesterol has no effect on your blood levels. The worse thing about cat fish is if you fry it in vegetable oil. Vegetable oil heated is a rancid oil that contains trans fats and increases your LDL. Eating high quality cholesterol is good for you. When your body senses you are not eating enough cholesterol, it makes a form of LDL that IS bad for you.
Pink, please do some research before repeating bad science. http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/skinny.html
